Autumn Terms 1 and 2 ‘People Who Changed the World’
This term Willow Class will be investigating people who changed the world. We are going to look at a diverse range of people throughout the ages who have contributed to how the world has changed. We are starting by looking at Emmeline Pankhurst and the Suffragettes. There is a local connection to the suffragettes, and we will visit both the Suffragette Phone Box and Eagle House on a history walk. We will also look at the work of Florence Nightingale and Mary Seacole – this work will link with our writing in English. During this term we will also look at designers –Isambard Kingdom Brunel (the Box Tunnel and The Clifton Suspension Bridge) and a more modern designer Elsie Owusu.
