Summer Terms 1 and 2 ‘Stone Age to Iron Age’
In this exciting history topic, Stone Age to Iron Age, children will travel back in time to explore life in prehistoric Britain. They will discover how people lived during the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age, learning about hunter-gatherers, early farmers, powerful Celtic tribes and the tools they used to survive. We will investigate fascinating sites such as Stonehenge and Skara Brae, look at evidence from the past like grave goods and hill forts and discuss how and why life changed over time. Through discussion, map work and hands-on activities, children will develop their historical curiosity and understand how these early periods shaped life in Britain today. It promises to be an engaging and memorable journey into our ancient past!
