Autumn Terms 1 and 2 – Anglo Saxons, Vikings and Scots
Maple class will travel back in time to when Britain was a place of invasion. We will learn about when the Romans left Britain and that from 0-1000 AD Britain was invaded and fought over by Vikings, Anglo-Saxons, and Scots. We will study life in Anglo-Saxon Britain and understand the impact the Vikings had on the changes to law. We will find out about Anglo-Saxon and Viking Kings and their handling of invasions and battles. We will discover Britain was split into seven Anglo-Saxon kingdoms and study the Vikings invasion of Lindisfarne and York. Finally, we will learn about one of the most famous battles in Britain; The Battle of Hastings in 1066.
