What is an Autism Champion?
Autism Champions network for professionals within an education setting who become an advocate for their schools young neuro-diverse individuals. The champions attend regular training and updates, and feedback to all staff and families. The aim of this initiative is to connect families within the school setting as well as external agencies that can provide support and up to date information.
This initiative runs in association with SASS, Specialist Autism Support Service. They support children with an EHCP up to the age of 25 and children without an EHCP, up to the age of 18. They help to provide earlier support for children and families and supporting schools to put in autism strategies. They availability of specialist services, including OT, Sensory Workshops and Speech and Language. Please click on link below for a useful summary about SASS.
