Autumn Term 1 and 2 ‘Let Sparks Fly’

This term Willow Class will be learning all about the Great Fire of London. We will be comparing London in 1666 with London now. We will find out how the fire started and why it was so hard to put out. We will be visited by The Fire Brigade and learn a bit about the history of this service. We will also learn about Samuel Pepys and how his diary helped us to know about those events so long ago. Hopefully we will be visited by Perform drama workshop who will teach the children more about Mr Pepys.

After half term we will start to learn about the history of Fire work Night. We will find out about Guy Fawkes and his part in the plot to blow up The Houses of Parliament.
