Autumn Terms 1 and 2 ‘Saxons and Vikings’
Our topic this term in Maple Class is “Vikings, Saxons and Scots”. This will be a History focused topic where we will use our historical enquiry skills to understand the influence these different groups had in the past but also the influence we still see in society today. Our Guided Reading lessons will be spent studying the book “Anglo-Saxon Boy” by Tony Bradman, telling the story of the feuds and ambitions that led to 1066. Across the curriculum, we will also be exploring various forms of Viking and Saxon art, cooking traditional Viking recipes and using our Geography skills to explore where these groups invaded and settled.
