Summer Terms 1 and 2 ‘Show me the Monet’
This term in Maple Class our topic is “Show me the Monet”. This will be an art-based topic exploring how Claude Monet led the impressionist art movement to explore light and colour in new ways. We will see how this movement shifted away from realism to focus on how art can capture the way we feel and uniquely see the world. We will draw on his inspiration to paint “en plein air” using the beautiful natural scenery in Mike’s Meadow to inspire some of our own artwork. We will also explore how his art changed over time and the plant species he loved to paint in his beautiful Giverny garden, allowing us to make links to our History and Science learning
