Summer Terms 1 and 2 – ‘Hidden Woods’

‘As we enter the Summer term we introduce our new topic ‘Hidden Woods’. This topic will take us outside into the local community, enjoying weekly sessions in Mike’s Meadow and gardening in our outside area! We will be planting seeds, learning how and what plants need to grow, learning about the different types of trees, exploring mini-beasts and their local habitats. This is a Science filled topic but with plenty of Geography, Art and Computing links too! In Geography we will be exploring maps further, learning about physical and human features and creating our own map symbols. In Art we will be learning about the designer Orla Kiely as well as William Morris and creating our own prints.  In computing, we will be using the iPads to learn how to take good quality photographs as well as learning how to save and display data linked to mini-beasts investigations! In Summer Term 2 we are very excited to announce we will be heading out on a trip to Westonbirt to further our plant and tree knowledge. ‘
